FirstHealth of the Carolinas is a nationally recognized health care system in central North Carolina. We operate four hospitals with more than 600 beds, dozens of primary care and specialty clinics, the area’s only dedicated heart and vascular center and a comprehensive cancer center. More than 6,000 employees work each day to deliver on our core purpose – To Care for People – and we serve patients in a 15-county service area. FirstHealth has an extensive 15-county service area which allows us to care for patients in all areas of our region. Within our service area, FirstHealth is also proud to operate one of the largest ambulance systems in North Carolina, covering more than 3,000 square miles.
FirstHealth is committed to serving our community with four hospitals across the region, offering exceptional, patient-centered care close to home.
In addition to the four hospitals, FirstHealth has numerous outpatient clinics. These clinics range from primary care offices to specialty clinics, and a robust cancer and heart center that is unique to this region.
We are committed to providing high-quality care and improving the health and well-being of our communities. Part of this commitment includes operating seven fitness centers throughout the region, with two locations being 24/7.
During the 2023-2024 fiscal year, we treated over 1.5 million patients throughout our region.
