Academies

We offer a variety of specialized Academies designed to help you launch or advance your health care career. Programs include nursing assistant, medical assistant and more. We are proud to cover the cost of tuition, ensuring that you can focus on your education without financial stress. Upon graduation, you’ll be guaranteed a full-time job with FirstHealth, allowing you to apply your skills and training in a supportive and rewarding environment.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships

We offer an exceptional Maintenance Engineer Apprenticeship Program designed to provide hands-on training and real-world experience. As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining valuable skills in HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and more. Our program ensures you have the tools and knowledge needed to succeed.

FirstFutures

FirstFutures

Through the FirstFutures sponsorship, students can receive funding for education in nursing, allied health, or other trades at local community colleges that align with FirstHealth job opportunities. Adult learners changing careers or re-entering the workforce can also apply for sponsorship, which covers education costs and guarantees a job upon graduation.

FirstU

FirstU

Our Corporate Education department provides a wide range of educational opportunities through FirstU. FirstU courses are designed to help you build leadership skills, enhance professional expertise, and deepen your understanding of key areas like medical terminology, custom service and more. These programs are designed to be flexible and accessible with a mix of in-person and remote classes so you can easily complete the programs during downtime or outside of work.

Internships and Job Shadowing

Internships and Job Shadowing

FirstHealth is dedicated to sharing the future of health care by offering several opportunities to get involved. Our teen volunteer program provides high school students with hands-on experience, and we actively participate in high school and college recruitment fairs to connect with future talent. Through clinical affiliations with CRNA, physician assistant, nursing and allied health programs, we provide students with real-world experience. These opportunities help aspiring health care professionals gain practical experience and prepare for successful careers in the health care field.

Leadership

We offer various opportunities for individuals at all levels to develop leadership skills. Our Nursing and Physician Leadership Academies help clinical leaders build essential skills. Additionally, our annual High-Performance Leaders (HPL) cohort cultivates future leaders within FirstHealth. These programs empower our leaders to drive success and innovation across the organization.

Nursing

Nurses are essential at FirstHealth. We offer various resources to help you thrive in your career, including scholarships for further education and access to CNE classes to maintain your license and stay updated on the latest nursing topics, taught by our clinical educators in specific specialty areas. Our clinical ladder program also provides a structured path for career advancement, recognizing your achievements and fostering growth at every stage.

Administrative Fellowship Program

The FirstHealth Administrative Fellowship Program is a two-year experience comprised of a combination of project work, operations, and management experience. The Administrative Fellow will report directly to the CEO, have mentorship from an executive sponsor, and be supported by the leadership team throughout the system. Applications for this program will open in 2026.
